I’m Aleksandra, an 18th Century Studies (MA) graduate (King’s College London) currently living in Oslo, Norway. My research interests are interdisciplinary, centered on Enlightenment culture and Romantic imagination, and are for the most part contained within the latter decades of the long 18th century. I am particularly interested in The French Revolution, The Napoleonic Wars, Neoclassicism, fashion, interiors, gender, women’s writing in general and Jane Austen in particular. I’ve also got a soft spot for 19th century Norwegian poets, gothic fiction, Pre-Raphaelites and fin de siècle decadence. In my spare time I enjoy photography, lurking around historic properties and dressing up for Napoleonic re-enactments.
